Coleman: As we regulate child porn, so we should regulate the 'cancer' of blogs

Here is Brian 'Mr Toad' Coleman's latest, foolish outburst - as reported in the Ham and High today (click the picture for a bigger and readable version). For those without the time or the inclination to click - yes - he really does describe blogs as a 'cancer' which should be dealt with like child porn. This presumably does not include his own blogs in which he makes allegations about people like this one for example, or this one.

Mr Toad, in your own words - "if you can't take it, don't dish it out basically".

Of course you could always sue for libel if you find anything untrue in the blogs couldn't you?

I won't hold my breath.

When will Brian Coleman realise that perhaps people who have opposing opinions to him aren't necessarily suffering from a mental health problems but are in fact holdings of valid opinions?

Freedom of speech is freedom of speech Coleman and just because the electorate has a bigger and wider reaching voice thanever doesn't suddenly make it wrong.

Who'd have thought that a high ranking politican like Mr Coleman could question what is the keystone to Western politics? This speaks volumes.

  2. Mr Toad

I salute your indefatigability in highlighting the hypocrisy of Cllr Coleman. Aside from attacking others through blogging when it suits him, Coleman also attacks the Standards Board as a waste of taxpayers money but is happy to report an opposition councillor for an alleged breach of the code of conduct (case thrown out). The Board is a waste of money when he’s under investigation, but clearly not if he’s the one complaining.

Also, making references to cancer is somewhat insensitive, to put it mildly.

  3. What a tosser, he likes to dish it out but throws a sulk when someone fights back.

I get the feeling he will not be re-elected next time.

  4. I'm having an exchange of e-mails with the fuckwit after reading about him on Ranting Rab's blog. I'll keep you posted if there is anything interesting. Has the picture been sent to the Stndard and the Metro?

And yes - the Standard and Metro have certainly seen the picture. With luck they'll print it one day :-)
