Coleman is Barnet's new chief toad

Following the resignation of Barnet Conservatives chief whip: Councillor Robert Rams - Brian Coleman has been appointed Chief Toad.

It was believed widely within the local party that someone with a thicker, greener skin, and a proven record for 'getting things done' was exactly the kind of amphibian needed to keep people in line.

And Mr Toad certainly has a record - as he has proven time, and again, and again, and again, and again, and (famously) again.

"My track record speaks for itself" croaked Coleman.

  1. When does our wonderful Mayor have to pass on his bling and fabulous robes, I wonder? They will have to tie him down first, I would imagine ... or perhaps the position of Chief Whip has its own outfit? If not, I am sure Brian will invent one ... bless him

  2. He hands over his robes at the AGM of the council next week. The loss of bling will be compensated by the payment of an allowance of £5,984.40 as Chief Whip.

Could somebody please explain why taxpayers should have to pay for this political post?
